Bikers Battling Cancer will begin “48 in 20” on June 6th (God willing and based upon CDC guidelines). I will ride my motorcycle the contiguous 48 states in 20 days raising money for the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Fund of the West Central Georgia Cancer Coalition (WCGCC).
During this period of uncertainty, people with cancer are scared and concerned. I have talked to my friends who have cancer, and I can hear it in their voices and in the voices of their family members. They feel isolated. Supporting the WCGCC is one way you can show you care. I know things are rough this year, and there are a lot of concerns facing everyone at this time, but I am asking you to help a group of people who are more vulnerable this year than at any time since I have been doing my motorcycle ride.
With the constant news stories concerning COVID-19, it is easy to forgot about the people who have cancer. They are at particular risk from COVID-19 and therefore have to shelter in place more than the rest of us, so they may not be working the hours they need, may need to remotely visit their doctor, and some may actually put off going to the doctor out of concern for their compromised immune system, or loss of insurance.
These people still have day to day expenses and concerns that need to be met. Not just health care expenses, but rent, groceries, transportation, child care, etc.
Helping people with cancer meet their everyday needs is what the WCGCC does through the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Fund.
This will be the fifth year that I have ridden my motorcycle to support the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Fund. All money raised goes directly to the WCGCC’s Neighbors Helping Neighbors Fund. None of it goes to pay my expenses or the maintenance on the motorcycle.

Please help in whatever way you can!
God Bless,
Stephen Wilson
